Having a tough time getting your foot in the door at schools in your community? This session is a great way to start developing a strategy to open the door and examine the many different ways we can strive to make schools safer for LGBTQ students by focusing on knowing and addressing how to best work with various school personnel.  

In this session you’ll:

  • Establish a shared definition of the term “safe schools” and explore what it means in the context of working to make schools safer for LGBTQ students;
  • Identify key stakeholders in public school systems and learn about what messaging and data regarding anti-LGBTQ bullying and harassment is most likely to resonate with them;
  • Get access to resources and activities that you can share with school personnel to meet their needs and help them make schools a safer place for LGBTQ students; and
  • Be able to use this new information to rethink and reshape safe schools efforts in your community
